Ms. Chakraborty earned her Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law in 2018, and she is licensed to practice in Washington, DC.
During her time at American University, she gained extensive experience through her work in the AUWCL Immigrant Justice Clinic as well as at HIAS, a nonprofit immigration office, where she worked on asylum and other humanitarian cases and represented clients in Immigration Court. Ms. Chakraborty also previously had internships in the areas of housing and family law.
Prior to joining Hayman-Woodward, Ms. Chakraborty has worked in both the business and nonprofit immigration areas. Within less than one year, she expanded a small, part-time, newly-established, non-profit immigration office into a reliable, full-time program now serving hundreds of clients.
Ms. Chakraborty earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Miami in 2014. Aside for passionately advocating for her clients, Ms. Chakraborty spends her time reading, traveling, learning new languages, trying new foods, and spending time outdoors with her dog.
